Doesn’t anyone test software anymore?
So, we just finished installing Office 2010 and began learning the new features as we prepare for the push-out to our customers. One of the new features of Outlook 2010 is the social site connector feature that allows you to view status updates and connections from sites such as LinkedIn, Myspace and Facebook.
I chose to install the LinkedIn connector. I downloaded the "linkedinoutlookconnector.exe" file from the LinkedIn website which apparently does nothing but figure out what version of Outlook you are running and downloads the appropriate connector.
The application asks you to install the connector before clicking "OK" but does not download the file until you actually click "OK", once clicked the application installer exits telling you the install is complete.
Once "outlooksocialconnector-x86-en-us.exe" is downloaded, an attempt to run presents this message:
Followed by:

Needless to say, the connector is not installed.
